Brunch with former Teachers at Grand Dorsett Labuan

We had a great 3-1/2 hours brunch at the Grand Dorsett Labuan with a bunch of former GES teachers. Date was 6th October 2012. Our special guest was Han Yong Eng all the way from the States. We have to thank Patrick Chiu for organising this event and accommodating us (the students) to join them.

Mary Corkery’s visit to Labuan after so many moons

Mary Corkery, we met 42 years ago and today we meet up again. It has been a wonderful experience. We have changed each other’s lives after that first encounter half a lifetime ago. Wish you and your family all the best in everything and stay healthy always. Also thank you for inviting us to Toronto.

The Torvis are in touch again

Thanks so much for sending this (referring to the earlier mail from Chia Chin Koi, KK).
It is lovely to get news from Sabah.
Just last week I was looking through photos from my visit in 2009 and
thinking about my former students and colleagues: how very special all
of you are.
I was asked to give a talk about Malaysia at my church, so I showed a
lot of pictures from that time. The people who came said they found it
very interesting.
I have attached a few pictures from that 2009 visit.
Warm wishes to you all,
Lee Torvi

Old Boy met up with Mr. Chia Chin Koi in KK

Following is a mail I received from Mr. Chia Chin Koi who is presently residing in KK.

Hi All,

It is indeed that our old boy met up with me and my family yesterday evening in Kota Kinabalu.
Well, he is KESTER CHIN KIN ONN. For forty plus years, we have not met yet each other since
I left GES Labuan in December 1971.

He threw us a good dinner and Chew Bee Koh and Chu Mei Yoke were invited too. We had a
good time with recalled stories. So much warmth and touching then.

His time in Sabah is very hasty; the next day, he has to fly to Tawau and then to KL for his offical duties.
He said he would come to Sabah often from now on as a business centre will be set up then.

HE WOULD MEET MORE OF US WHEN HE COMES NEXT !, HE SAYS

Thanks, Kester !

Cheers,
